6. ISTA International Safety Packaging Transit Association
The International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) is an association of organizations and professional individuals dedicated to the development, design and evaluation of cost effective and protective transport packaging. When your package design passes an ISTA test you can be assured that the package will protect the product from the typical expected hazards of distribution experienced in the everyday shipping environment.

ISTA TRANSIT TESTED Program provides tangible benefits of:

  • Protection of products and profits through reduced damage and product loss.
  • Economically balanced distribution costs.
  • Reduced or eliminated claims hassles.
  • Shortened package development time and confidence in product launch.
  • Customer satisfaction and continued business.

The Transit Tested Certification Mark on a package is visible proof to carriers that it has passed industry accepted pre-shipment laboratory testing. Use of the Certification Mark is a benefit to ISTA members only.
